The second edition of the school’s biennial Inter-House Sports Competition was held on Saturday 22nd, March, 2014.
The event was chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Anambra State, represented by Mr Joseph Umudu the Director of Sports resources, Anambra State. He was assisted by Barrister Louis Alozie, the school’s PTA Chairman.
It attracted many parents, students from other schools and visitors to the school. Six houses of GISS contested in 47 sports events and winners emerged in this order:
First Bank Onitsha Branch donated the sum of N24,000; N8000 went to first position in football. N8000 went to first position in Volleyball and N8000 went to first position in Lawn tennis. Anambra State Ministry of Youths and Sports donated 10 footballs, 18 stockings and 18 soccer boots to the school.
The event ended at about 4.50pm with the house that came first in this year’s interhouse sports: Mother Teresa House, lifting the trophy.
